President Yoweri Museveni and Forum for Democratic Change(FDC) President Maj Gen Gregory Mugisha Muntu are expected in the newly created Rubanda district to drum support for their party flag bearers in the Distict Woman and LC5 Seats.

Bahati says the president will address two rallies in the two constituencies of Rubanda East and Rubanda West.
The FDC leadership on the other hand has already pitched camp in the district to campaign for the two FDC party candidates Vastine Katushabe (Woman MP) and Joseph Ruhangariyo (District Chairman).
Dr Joseph Tindyebwa, the FDC Deputy Secretary General for Research says the Parliamentary Leader of Opposition Winfred Kizza is expected to campaign in the district on Saturday for the two FDC party candidates.
He also confirmed that the opposition party president Rtd. General Mugisha Muntu will arrive in the district on Tuesday next week.
The elections are slated for 29th August 2016, in which four candidates are vying for the LC5 seat, Kenneth Biryabarema Joogo (NRM), Nelson Habasa (INDEP) Stephen Ampaire Kasyaba (INDEP) and Jospeh Ruhangariyo (FDC).
The woman MP seat has Prossy Akampurira (NRM), Hilda Kabarungi Karuhize(INDPE), and Vastina Katushabe of the FDC.
