President Yoweri  Museveni yesterday advised married couples to always work toward upholding their marriage vows and preserving the marriage institution.

The president said committing oneself to a spouse is a sign of great of responsibility and a life time commitment which is voluntary.

The president made the call in message he sent through Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda at the wedding of the Rubanda East MP Henry Ariganyira Musasizi.

Hon Musasizi exchanged vows with Jane Francis Kyomuhendo, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral Rushorooza, an event that was presided over by the Bishop of Kabale Diocese Rt. Rev. Callistus Rubaramira.

The couple later hosted the guests to a reception at Hamurwa Playground in Hamurwa town council.

President Museveni in his message, urged the Rubanda East Legislator and his wife to take the marriage vows seriously and be good examples to the young people as well as his constituents.

Museveni praised the MP as a good cadre of the Movement, who has been active in NRM politics and served his people in parliament for two terms.

Museveni gifted the couple with 10 cows worth Shillings 20Million.

The reception was also graced by several dignitaries that included Ministers Frank Tumwebaze, Dr Chris Baryomunsi Godfrey Kiwanda as well as several MPs and local leaders.
