Museveni Congratulates President Donald Trump


President Yoweri Museveni has joined other world leaders in congratulating the newly elected President of the United States Donald Trump

Museveni who is in Addis Ababa for a meeting of the AU High Level Committee on Libya tweeted Wednesday Morning; ““I congratulate Donald Trump upon his election as USA president. I look forward to working with him like I’ve done with his predecessors.”

President Museveni has in the past expressed uncertainty about Donald Trump being elected President of the United States.

In March, cure Museveni feared that Trump’s Presidency would potentially hurt Uganda’s trade relations with the US.

Meanwhile as the world continues to take in the news from the US, health  a number of leaders have sent in congratulatory messages to new head executive of the super power.

In a message to Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed confidence that the dialogue between Moscow and Washington, in keeping with each other’s views, meets the interests of both Russia and the US.

Putin also expressed hope over the joint efforts on bringing Russian-American relations out of their current crisis.

The Russian leader noted in the message that he hopes to address some “burning issues that are currently on the international agenda, and search for effective responses to the challenges of the global security,” RIA Novosti reported.

From France, “Marine Le Pen’s far-right Front National has welcomed the results claiming they herald a new world. Marine Le Pen, who is running for president next spring, has long said Trump’s politics were in French interests, congratulated the “free” American people.

The Dutch far-right leader and MP Geert Wilders also expressed his jubilation after early wins for Trump, tweeting: “The People are taking their country back”
