Thursday 31st July will mark exactly one year since the 29 year old model and former Miss Africa contestant was stabbed to death by her Ugandan ex boyfriend, rx David Nsubuga Kikaawa in her home in East London.
Relatives, information pills friends and well wishers will lay wreaths on Linah’s final resting place; hold a memorial service and thereafter a thanksgiving dinner in her honour.
“At 3pm we will lay wreaths on her final resting place at Rusororo, then later hold a Memorial service at home – stone road Kisementi (same place where we held the vigil last year)at 6pm. A thanksgiving dinner will later be held in her honor as we also give the glory back to God for giving us our angel in Holly Latoya(Linah’s daughter),” said Edwin Musoni, a family friend.
There was so much sadness when the world learned of Linah’s murder for prior to her death, she visited Rwanda for the first time in10 years and toured all of it. The news of her sudden departure was so disheartening that it prompted campaigns on social media platforms by family and friends asking for justice to be served.
The judge of Central Criminal Court at Old Bailey, London found 38-year-old Kikaawa guilty of eleven counts including murder and was handed a life sentence, with a minimum of 21 years to be locked up, meaning he could only apply for parole after serving the 21 years.
