Sweden based defender, illness http://cmlsociety.org/wp-admin/includes/translation-install.php Robert Mukiibi has expressed his joy for earning his maiden call to the national team.
Mukiibi who plies his trade at Allsvensken side Ostersunds in an interview with ChimpSport revealed it is a dream-come true for him to be called on the national team.
“I’m happy for the call and a big achievement in my career as a footballer and I’m looking forward to use this chance,” he said.
The tall defender joined the national team in training on Wednesday evening after jetting in the country in the morning and he said he was impressed with the first session.
“It has been a tough one for me but at the same time I enjoyed. The boys have been hospitable to me and I’m already settling in,” he said.
“Everyone on the team is working hard and there is a lot of commitment from each of the players in camp,” added Mukiibi.
Quizzed about what he thinks he adds to the team, Mukiibi said it will depend on the coach to value his abilities.
“I believe I’m comfortable on the ball, good in aerial duels and good game reading but I think it’s the coach to decide which kind of player he wants to use,” he stressed.
Mukiibi earned his first call on the national team and if selected against Congo Brazzaville on Saturday, he will be making his debut.
