MTN Uganda has launched the first ever MTN Mobile Money Month, aimed at creating a platform to gather feedback from customers, resolve customer issues, carryout product education and reward customers across various touch points.
The MTN Mobile Money service has been operating for 8 years.
At its inception in 2009, it started as a means to remit funds, buy airtime or bundles and has since evolved to bill payment, saving & borrowing, donations, depositing/withdrawing from the bank as well as paying fees and taxes among other services.
MTN Mobile Money has now grown to over 8 million customers with over 70,000 agent’s country wide.
To celebrate this milestone as well as say thank you to their customers, MTN Uganda has launched the MTN Mobile Money Month packed with bonuses, instant prizes and more surprises.
“It’s been an incredible journey so far and we are taking a deliberate effort to recognize, reward and appreciate our customers who have walked with us the journey of Mobile Money since 2009. We are therefore using this time to celebrate with our customers for using MTN Mobile Money and most importantly gather feedback, resolve customer queries in order to improve the service” said Elsa Muzzolini, the MTN General Manager Mobile Financial Services.
“Other activities include bonus for customers buying airtime through MTN Mobile Money, rewards for reactivation of MTN Mobile Money accounts, countrywide MTN Mobile Money clinics where customer issues will be addressed in addition unlocking blocked MTN Mobile Money PINs. Lucky customers will win instant prizes at all MTN Service Centers involved in the MTN Mobile Money month” she added.
Since its inception, MTN Mobile Money has been seen as an easy, safe and secure way to send and receive money, pay bills and save by many Ugandans.
It is accessible via dialing the code *165# or using the MyMTN App; an innovative free to use App available across different OS including Android, BlackBerry, iOS and Windows.
The campaign theme for MTN Mobile Money Month is #Enkolera (‘it works for me’) to depict the numerous but varied ways in which MTN Mobile Money works for different customers from all walks of life in their daily personal, professional and business activities.
