MTN Gives Back to Muslims in Greater Ankole

Widows lining up for rice, soap and posho from MTN Uganda

Muslim leaders in greater Ankole yesterday were treated to a wide range of presents from Telecom Company MTN, drugs as part of its corporate social responsibility program.

Mr Habibu Byakatonda from the company’s marketing said they partnered Salaam TV to make possible a smooth winding of the (Ramadan) fasting month.

Byakatonda says the company had done the same to Muslims in Iganga, try Luzira Prison and Jinja.

MTN staffers offloading the items given to Muslims in Mbarara

A number of items distributed at Abu-Bakr Mosque in Mbarara to the Muslims included 15 mobile phones and lines to the Islamic leaders, more about 8 cartoons of wheat flour, 4 bags of rice, posho, boxes of bar soap, MTN shirts and water bottles.

The beneficiaries included Islamic district leaders of Kabale, Kisoro, Isingiro, Ntungamo, Ibanda, and Kiruhura plus a number of windows in Mbarara town.
