High Court’s Justice Yasin Nyanzi has issued an order requiring Ruhinda County Member of Parliament Rtd Capt Donozio Kahonda to appear in court tomorrow Friday October 14th without fail for the hearing of his application where he seeks court to stay criminal proceedings against him.

This was in spite of the fact that there were clear court records indicating that the MP received the hearing notices.
Justice Yasin Nyanzi insisted that the law of criminal matters requires the accused person to be physically present in court and that this law applies to every Ugandan including Captain Kahonda.
Kahonda gained popularity among Ugandans in the recently concluded 2016 Parliamentary elections when he defeated Cabinet Minister for Justice Maj Gen. Kahinda Otafiire to the parliamentary seat.
