The minister found the facility in a sorry state, price with most of the structures crumbling with old age including the staff quarters.

Elineo Bandaganire, the  Kashambya sub county LC3 chairperson  told the Minister,  who is  also the new Rukiga County MP  that  the health center also lacks most of the essential drugs for  diseases like malaria.

He explained that due to the overwhelming number of patents competing for the few facilities, the administrators decided to do away with privacy and mixed males and females in wards.

Bandaganire says the health center used to survive on the funding from World Vision, until the support was unplugged.

With most of the health center’s equipment lying defunct, the doctors source most of the services including blood tests from Kabala Regional Hospital, at a cost of several patents lives.

Minister Kabafunzaki described the situation at the health facility as unacceptable. Promising to seek help from government, he blamed his predecessor Jack Sabiiti for wasting time fighting wars in Kampala instead of helping his people.

The minister also promised use the money he will get in parliament for a new car, to buy an ambulance for the health center.
