Minister Kutesa, EU Ambassador Discuss Regional Security

Foreign Affairs Minister, visit http://creativecommons.org/wordpress/wp-includes/user.php Sam Kuteesa on Friday held a meeting with European Union Ambassador to Uganda, check H.E Kristian Schmidt to discuss security in the region, viagra 60mg with the major focus on war-torn Somalia.

In the meeting held at the Ministry Headquarters in Kampala, Kuteesa and Ambassador Schmidt discussed a range of issues including the forthcoming 2017 London Somalia Conference.

The London Somalia Conference is a diplomatic conference hosted by the Government of the United Kingdom, mainly focused on resolving issues that have arisen in Somalia in the wake of the civil war.

The conference was first hosted on February 23rd 2012, attended by Somali government officials and members of the international community.

Hon Kutesa informed Ambassador Schmidt that Uganda would be represented at the conference and was keen to have a discussion on the future of AMISOM high on the Agenda.

Currently, Uganda has over 6000 troops deployed in Somalia under AMISOM. The Ugandan contingent remains the largest with troops based in Sector 1 which comprises of Banadir (Mogadishu), Middle and Lower Shabelle regions.
