Jessica Alupo has hailed Sudhir Ruparelia for his significant contribution towards investment in Uganda’s education sector.
She was grateful that the businessman has established quality and relevant education facilities which will transform and steer national development.
Hon. Alupo made the remarks while officiating at the inaugural ceremony of Delhi Public School International (DPS) which is typically an Indian curriculum based primary and secondary institution.
The school which is a product of a merger between India International School and Delhi Public School in 2014 has since reviewed its curriculum to incorporate life skills and extra curriculum activities to enhance holistic development.
The new international curriculum is accredited by CBSE, adiposity http://consugi.com/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/upgrade.php India’s education board. The event was attended by the school’s Directors; Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, story http://cellar433.com/wp-includes/class-wp-http-response.php his wife Jyotsna Ruparelia and their son Rajiv Ruparelia.
“This is an important establishment which will benefit everyone and ensure many more students access quality education. There’s no better investment a nation can make than education of good quality” the Minister said.
She hailed Dr. Sudhir the school’s proprietor for creating a world class school and for bearing a vision that caters for all nationalities.
The Minister mentioned that such investments are a product of NRM’s liberalization of the education sector and good public private partnership as key agents of development.
She pledged continued government support. Speaking to journalists, one of the school’s Directors, Rajiv Ruparelia said that Delhi Public School is community oriented in nature which also goes beyond academic performance by discovering and enhancing students’ talents.
“The Indian community in Uganda was lacking quality education so we set out to fill this gap by establishing a school with good facilities. Then we went ahead to open this Indian curriculum to students of other nationalities” Rajiv said, adding that DPS has a comparative advantage of running a digital syllabus where learning is not just about the teacher.
The school has adopted a model where in addition to teacher instruction, students learn through various mediums like videos, movies and animations.
This according Rajiv helps them to easily digest information and use it. The state of the art facility situated in Bukoto next to Kampala Parents School is spacious with serene and hygienic environs.
It has 2 libraries, 3 science laboratories, 2 ICT labs and an indoor sports centre. Sudhir owns other schools like Kampala Parents School a primary school and Victoria University.
