Following the team’s exit from the 2015 AFCON at the hands of West African giants Equatorial Guinea, doctor http://cornerstone-edge.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack-network.php Uganda Cranes tactician Milutin Micho Sredjovic has labelled the campaign successful and fruitful.
Addressing journalists at FUFA House in Mengo on Wednesday, http://chopcult.com/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/templates/templates/images/secure.php the Serbian coach said Uganda was able to show that they deserve to be respected as one of the best countries on the continent.
“We were in the group of death and the most competitive one playing Togo who had previously been in World Cup, http://colombiareports.com/wp-includes/l10n.php Ghana had outplayed world champions Germany whereas Guinea  are also good. My team out of the 10 games managed to win 5 , a draw and 4 losses yet we conceded only one goal  from open play. In fact we kept the standard above many countries,” Micho explained.
The Cranes tactician added that his team did everything possible to qualify for the 2015 finals Guinea but stressed that they were only unlucky to have ended  it on a sad note  .
“I knew the strengths and weaknesses of each team we played after doing good scouting on them .We tried our level best but failed at the last hurdle.”
He added, “Every detail was looked at in our preparations but we were punished by the cruel nature of football because there are certain things you can’t plan for. You couldn’t have planned the 2 moments in
Morocco that led us to lose.”

Micho said that though the Cranes didn’t progress to the 2015 AFCON finals in Equatorial Guinea, the whole campaign was fruitful  to the whole team.
“We were able to use preparations for the campaign as development competitions to which a pool of players were summoned and given chance. In fact throughout the 10 qualifiers games, we used 26 players which is positive. What took place can’t be changed but Uganda deserves to be ranked among the best in Africa,” Micho said.
Uganda’s hopes of breaking their 36 year jinx of qualifying for the AFCON finals were shattered when they lost 2 nil to West African side Guinea in a game played in Casablanca
