He further said the summit will review the achievements of the last 8 summits in order to gain strategic direction that will benefit all the participants both those residing in the Diaspora, and their partners and / or stakeholders in Uganda.

The “Home is the best” summit is a diaspora event held annually and rotated regionally around the country to give Ugandans in diaspora an opportunity to appreciate the status of economic development in the country.

“The summit enables them to realize the investment potential in Uganda so they can invest in order to generate income for themselves and create employment for their fellow Ugandans,” Sebbowa said.

He added that the summit will also highlight the Masaka industrial and business park being spearheaded by the Vice President, Edward Ssekandi.

Last year’s Summit which was held in Gulu, according to Sebbowa, had over 150 participants and attracted 30 Ugandans from the diaspora.

Sebbowa said the 2015 summit, with financial assistance from the United Nations Development Programme, hopes to host over 150 Ugandans with many of them from diaspora.

The summit will include business exhibition by SME’S seeking markets and business expansion partnership with Ugandans in diaspora.

Present at the event will be Buganda’s Katikiro and the Minister of Foreign affairs.
