Mbayo Ministerial Appointment Sparks Celebrations in Luuka

Luuka constituents said Mbayo's appointment is a big reward from the NRM party chairman

Celebrations broke out Monday night in Luuka district after residents received news that their Woman Member of Parliament Esther Mbayo Mbulakubuza had been appointed the Minister for Presidency in the new cabinet.

The excited constituents said the appointment is not for Hon Mbayo but the whole district which had never produced a minister since inception in 2010.

Riding motorcycles and blowing horns, medications http://ccresourcecenter.org/wp-includes/class-wp-user.php hundreds of residents stormed Kiyunga trading centre before marching through the streets – singing praises to president Museveni.

Many were seen dancing to the ‘Tubonga nawe’ song.

“This is a blessing to our district and I am certain that we shall exceedingly benefit from her position as the minister for presidency. I congratulate all the people of Luuka for the good choice they made to vote for Hon Esther Mbayo, about it http://decksplushouston.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/class.nextgen_product_installer.php ” said Bernard Kisame , the  district speaker.

Mr Kisame noted that if the district would tap much from the office of the president with their own legislator as the minister for presidency, there is need to bury their cachet and work together.

Hussein Taitika, the chairman for Bulongo Sub County said the appointment of Mbayo as a minister was a vote of thanks by the president to the voters in Luuka for the overwhelming support they have continuously given him.

Good gesture

“This is a very good gesture by the president and we now look forward to seeing the minister serve to the expectation of the people of Luuka and to that of the appointing authority. I am confident that she will perform because she demonstrated her abilities locally and thus why she was voted,” he added.

Mbayo also served as the Secretary General for Busoga Women Leaders Association (BWELA) , a group that promoted their members into leadership positions.

The member for parliament for Kamuli Municipality Hajjati Rehema Watongola is the vice chairperson for BWELA.

Mbayo trounced the former woman legislator for Luuka Evelyn Kabuule.

She is one of the very few legislators from Busoga whose victory was never contested.

Besides the second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East African Affairs Hon. Kirunda Kivejinja, Mbayo is the only cabinet minister from Busoga sub-region.

Lands and Housing Minister Daudi Migereko was kicked out.
