At the function, visit over 50 pregnant women received birth kits and a total of Shs 130,000 was collected to buy other kits to save pregnant mothers during labor.

Speaking at the occasion Dr Besigye told residents that for repeatedly voting him to power, President Yoweri Museveni had entirely usurped all Ugandans constitutionally provided rights and that he held them all in his hands.

“That is why all of us pay taxes, and Mr Museveni spends this money as he pleases. That is why government hospitals for which way pay taxes to treat us, are in a devastating condition.”

He added, “when we’re talking about youth unemployment, it’s not that only FDC or opposition youths are unemployed, even the NRM youths are unemployed, and that’s why we have to come together and cause the ultimate end to all this.”

He urged his FDC party members to co-ordinate and unite in preparation for the coming elections, as they wait for government’s response in regard to the promised electoral reforms.

The lack of these, he said, must be seen to imply government’s lack of commitment to a free and fair election and thus the 2016 election must not take place.
