Police in Mbarara is investigating circumstances under which a 3 weeks old toddler was burnt to death on Tuesday night.

He said Turyahebwa (the mother) will be taken to court to answer charges of doing rash and neglect causing death according to the Penal Code Act.
Turyahebwa says she had left her baby behind to go fry chips and roast meat on Kijungu Street (in Mbarara) to earn a living since the husband denied care to the family.
Officer Chiringa cautioned all parents and the public to provide tight security and care for their children.
In other developments, he revealed that 3 bodaboda riders had been killed killed by thieves in the district while on duty.
The deceased include; Norman Kansiime, 22, from Kakoba Ward who was stubbed with a sharp object to robe his motorcycle, Robert Gumisiriza, 19, who was assaulted to death and Phillip Mwesigye, 52, a businessman in Buteraniro, Ndeija in Mbarara district who was also strangled over domestic violence.
The OCCID confirmed that 3 suspects had been arrested who include Joweria Kemirembe, Matiya Nareeba and Justina Katushabe to help in investigations.
