12 people in Ssembabule district are being detained by police for allegedly setting the district NRM party offices alight.

The girl is a Primary 2 pupil at Miyamba Primary School in Koranorya Mbarara.

According to Chiriga, the girl, out of fear did not report the incident when she was assaulted by her father, because she he said he would kill her.

It was not until her stepmother noticed her condition and called her 37 year old mother Julian Kankiriho, who rushed to the school and upon medical checkup, it was confirmed that she was defiled and was in pain.

Last Thursday, the mother reported the matter to police and Tomothy was arrested and detained at Mbarara Central Police Station.

The girl told police that the father raped her when her step mother was away.

The matter is recorded under police file number SD Ref /47/15/10/015.
