Mbarara: Police Hunts for Armed Robbers

Police in Mubende is holding three people, more about all employees of Town View Hotel in Mubende town, who are suspected to have robbed England nationals of money amounting to Shs.100million, on 23rd November, 2015.

The victims told police that they booked rooms on this hotel on Saturday 21st November and moved out, leaving their property inside the rooms but on return, the doors had been broken and their property which include 4 laptops, 2 cameras, and money in Shillings and Euros totaling to UGX 100million were missing.

Police was called in and rounded up 3 employees who include; Jackson Luwedde, Edison Arinaitwe and Atukunda.

Area police spokesperson Phillip Mukasa says that at the crime scene they managed to recover tools which they suspect were used in the robbery.

The three are being confined at Mubende police, as investigation in the matter proceed.
Police in Mbarara have initiated a manhunt for three men who are said to have shot and injured a business woman in an armed robbery on Tuesday.

The assailants authorities say, viagra 60mg shot and injured Betty Tumusiime in the leg, before taking off with her money totaling to Shs 6.5 million.

Tumusiime, who works along Mbaguta street in Mbarara town was travelling back home in Kihindi Kakoba Mbarara at around 8pm.

Mbarara Deputy RDC RDC Mr. Emmy Kateera told Chimpreports that the unknown assailants are believed to have entered Mbarara town on Tuesday afternoon

Kateera, who vowed to direct police patrols to hunt the armed men down, emphasized that all residents in the district must pick their national identity cards.

He also advised the accommodation providers like lodges and guest houses to always mind about identifying their clients.

The OCCID Taban Chiriga confirmed the shooting and said that police is on the hunt of the assailants.

The case is registered at Mbarara police station under SD Kakoba/18/24/11/015.
