Ndyomugyenyi sounded the warning on Wednesday at the Uganda Police Grounds in Mbarara while overseeing the screening exercise of crime preventers that will help in the elections on 18th of this month.

“Crime preventers are for all Ugandans but not for parties” he stressed.

Ndyomugyenyi highlighted the violence that marred last year’s NRM Primaries, saying that this went out of hand because police was overstretched.

He then urged the public to remain disciplined and asked the candidates to trust and respect the work that will be done by the SPCs.

“During this training we shall screen well behaved officers who we believe will do a good job for us on the 18th.”

The training which commenced on Monday will run up to Friday and is targeting 694 special police constables for Mbarara district.
