The mayor sounded the warning on Monday while meeting with the traders at the old market on Markhan Singh Street in Mbarara Municipality.

The traders accuse their chairperson of trading the title for a loan from tycoon Chris Boona – husband to Mbarara Woman MP Hon. Emma Bona – who they believe is in possession of the title.

Mayor Tumwiine asked the traders to come to his office for a letter to the Town Clerk seeking to have the missing land title canceled out.

He noted that the letter to the Lands Committee would cancel out the market title and a new one would be registered in the names of the market vendors.
