Koranorya market chairprson Rose Kyomukama Nalongo speaking to fellow vendors during the Friday meeting

State Minister of East African affairs, pharm http://continentalagra.com/wp-admin/includes/class-walker-nav-menu-checklist.php Hon Shem Bageine Bajura, http://datedgear.com/wp-content/plugins/fusion-builder/shortcodes/fusion-code-block.php earlier this week was waved down by residents of Maziba Sub County in Ndorwa East, http://culture.you-ng.it/wp-includes/feed.php whom he tried without success to lure away from reelecting the area MP Hon Wilfred Niwagaba.

While speaking at a function at Maziba sub county headquarters, the minister assayed to appeal to the attendants to vote only for the NRM and President Yoweri Museveni and to do away with the likes of Hon Niwagaba.

He had barely finished his statement when the crowd silenced him and shouted him down in front of the Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda and several dignitaries that included the Sri Lankan investors who are set to build a 6.5 megawatts Muvumbe hydro electric power dam in Maziba sub county.

Some of the voices in the crowd told him off to stop overlooking the power and ability of the citizenry to determine their own leadership.

Hon Bagaine has for the past years been considered in the constituency as the kingmaker.

Bagaine represented Ndorwa East in the old National Resistance Council (NRC) until 1996 when he quit elective and introduced Dr Avitas Tibarimbasa.

The two however became enemies and in 2001, the Minister brought the now incumbent Hon Niwagaba.

This, he now calls the lost son who was even thrown out of the party over misconduct and doesn’t deserve another term.

Bagaine is said to be pushing for a one Narisicio Tumwesigye be elected the next Ndorwa east MP.

At the event, the crowd informed the Minister – who has been in the constituency meeting with party members — that they would vote the candidate of their choice, regardless what the NRM says.

The Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda said at the function that the NRM party ushered in peace in the country so that people could use it to elect leaders of their choice, whom they know will bring development in their area.

“No person should come to tell you that I or the president has sent someone to stand in your area. It should be upon you the people to use the democracy to elect leaders of your own choice,” Said Dr. Rugunda.
