Mbarara: Man Strangles Own Wife

Police in Mbarara has in custody a 28 year old man accused of murdering his own wife.

The suspect Wahabu Bagumai runs a butcher and is a resident of Nyamitanga cell, nurse Katete ward, in Mbarara Municipality.

According to the police investigations, Wahabu strangled his wife Naluga Madinah 21, on July 2nd following a family misunderstanding.  The deceased left behind a six month old baby.

Mbarara’s head of criminal investigations Taban Chiriga says Baguma hanged his wife on a tree and run to police claiming that she had committed suicide.

A doctor’s report however was to revealed that the Mr Wahabu did murder his wife.

The case is registered at Mbarara police station under SD10/02/07/2016

In a related development, police discovered to dead bodies during the weekend in Mbarara town.

The deceased were identified as Emmanuel Orishaba 40, a resident of Baghdad, Rugazi cell and Yozefu Betegyeka 76, a resident of Kisenyi cell Kakoba division.

Both bodies were recovered from their respective houses, and police believes they both could have died of excessive drinking.

The two bodies were taken to Mbarara hospital for postmortem.
