Meanwhile, the DP President Mao vowed to field a strong DP candidate in Busiro North with the aim of pushing Bukenya out of parliament.

“Bukenya was not on our hit list but now he is; we shall do all that it takes to make sure he doesn’t return to parliament.”

“Bukenya has committed a sin. You cannot come to my bed room, I tell you all my secrets and the next day, I find you talking with my enemy; that is betrayal of the highest degree.”

Different sources in DP have told Chimpreports that members will task Mbabazi as their presidential candidate to share his winning strategic plan for the 2016 elections race.

Ever since Mao endorsed Mbabazi’s candidature, some claims have been circulating that all candidates in DP will be funded by Mbabazi to run their campaigns while they campaign for him in return.

However several candidates have revealed that they have never interfaced with Mbabazi not even receiving a single cent from him.

“We are very anxious to meet Mbabazi as our presidential candidate hoping that he will make himself clear on the offers that he will render to us as his campaigners,” revealed a source that asked for anonymity.

“This business of popularizing Mbabazi, surrendering our DP identity won’t work unless he funds our individual campaigns,” a source added.

On the same note, Mao revealed that he is set to explain to his party members how and why he reached a decision to support Mbabazi despite the party constitution demanding that he represents the party in the presidential race.

“We are going to have a chance tomorrow to explain and also take the hard questions; I personally must explain to members the process and consultations that I made before reaching a decision to support Mbabazi for presidency.”

“Other MPs like Joseph Ssewungu and Suzan Namaganda will be explaining to new candidates how they managed to win their first time elections;I will also train members on how to win an election.”

Mao added that the party National Executive Committee (NEC) members will be heading to Masaka District for a retreat where new NEC members will be oriented, discuss the fundraising for Ben Kiwanuka House and approve the party budget.
