Mbabazi Lawyers to Sue EC Officials

Mbabazi's lawyer, Fred Muwema

The former Prime Minister, approved website like this http://communityvet.net/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/admin/admin.php John Patrick Amama Mbabazi’s legal team led by Fred Muwema and Severino Twinobusingye have threatened to take legal action against individual officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) who have since yesterday accused their client of holding election campaigns contrary to the law.

“Our client hasn’t broken any law and for that matter it should be noted that we haven’t received any official communication from EC a part from hearing from different media platforms and social media, http://couponsavingfamily.com/wp-admin/includes/class-walker-category-checklist.php ” Muwema told journalists in Kololo.

Muwema assured journalists that the Presidential Elections Act doesn’t at all bar their client from conducting mass rallies and conducting nationwide consultative meetings.

“Every presidential aspirant is free to hold consultations where he is expected to market himself to as many people as possible without restrictions on the numbers he meets, http://cides.med.up.pt/templates/yoo_revista/warp/systems/joomla/layouts/com_contact/featured/default_items.php ” Muwema said.

“We understand, EC is confused by the masses that have gathered to hear from our client making them think that he is holding campaigns. This should be clear, our client knows that breaking the law is dangerous and he is very compliant. He can’t involve himself in campaigns since he knows that campaigns haven’t yet been gazette according to EC road map.”

“It should be noted however, that there is a thin line between holding consultative meetings and campaigns since whatever is done during consultations is the same.  An aspirant is expected to market his ideas and what he intends to offer to the people once elected into power.”

The legal team has resolved to institute legal proceedings against EC Secretary Sam Rwakojo and Jotham Taremwa for inciting the public through unfounded and illegal interference in the rights of their clients to consult within the citizens.

“We are raising our complaint and we shall do whatever is necessary to protect the legitimate rights of our clients.”

The lawyers warned that in case violence breaks in Soroti where Mbabazi is carrying out rallies today, the two EC officials will be held accountable and will therefore face the law for inciting violence.

“We have already received reports that jets are flying all over Soroti with heavy deployment and that the Independence grounds are already locked down but in case any person loses his life or property, we shall hold to account these two EC officials.”
