Rugunda who meet with the Zambian Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Chitalu Chilufya at the Premier’s office discussed health development cooperation between Uganda and Zambia.
According to Rugunda, respective countries in Africa should appreciate the advantages of pooling resources.
‘A country stands to benefit if procurements are pooled such as drugs, instead of having segmented procurements,” he said.
The Zambian Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Chitalu informed the Premier about efforts being taken to improve the health service supply chain in Zambia.
He said the Aids control structures set up by the Government of Zambia have been able to reduce HIV/AIDS scourge in the country. He therefore looked forward to the strengthening of bilateral relationship with Uganda.
He concurred with the Premier about the need for African countries to cooperate, in order to set up quality health service facilities on the continent.

The National Prayer day will be held at the Kololo Independence grounds on October 3 where all Ugandans of all faiths will converge to prayer for peace to prevail during elections.

“The national prayers at Kololo are intended to thank God for the 53 years of Uganda’s independence and to also pray for peaceful and violent-free elections next year,” Lwere said.
Lwere noted that the council was saddened to hear skirmishes witnessed in the ongoing internal party elections in various political parties.
“We want to appeal to the youth and politicians to accept that in every contest there is a winner and a loser. As leaders, we must learn to accept defeat gracefully to avoid leading our supporters into chaos,” noted the man of God.
The Democratic Alliance (TDA) main rivals Dr Kizza Besigye and Hon Amama Mbabazi are Friday morning expected to address a press conference in Kampala.
The function will be held at the TDA headquarters in Naguru.
Dr Besigye has already arrived at the TDA Secretariat while Mbabazi is expected to turn up a few minutes from now.
The press conference is a surprise to many observers considering that TDA fell short of fulfilling the main objective of its formation – fielding a joint coalition presidential candidate against President Museveni in the 2016 elections.
Mbabazi is yet to speak out on the latest developments especially FDC’s claims that it could not allow his candidature on the TDA ticket due to his past record associated with corruption scandals.
The former Prime Minister has never been convicted of corruption but his name has appeared in high profile corruption scandals including alleged soliciting of bribes from oil companies.
There have been reports that several opposition parties supportive of Mbabazi’s candidature intend to announce the formation of a parallel coalition to front him as their 2016 flag-bearer.
