Mao to Resume Office Soon

The students rioted over poor school administration. According to a teacher who prefers to remain anonymous, the aggrieved students initially wrote posters and pinned them all over the school insisting that their head teacher Micheal Mugabe should be transferred.

However when their grievances were not addressed, armed with clubs, stones and other objects, the angry students vandalized the school library, science laboratory, four new classrooms and broke all the widows from the old classroom blocks.

Hon. Christopher Mwesige, a member of the school board and district council Kyarusozi described the damage as huge and a loss to the school and community.

Mwesige who rushed at the scene after learning of the situation, said the students destroyed all the infrastructure that had been constructed by the government last year and it will cost a lot to renovate the damaged structures

He revealed that the school administration has called for an urgent meeting on Thursday this week with the Resident District Commissioner and DPC to discuss and establish the cause of the strike.

Kakande told journalists during a weekly press conference at the party headquarters at City House that the president has impressively responded to medical treatment and is now ready to take on all his responsibilities as the party president.

Kakande said that Mao will be leading the party into all activities leading to leadership renewal at the national level.

Mao took on leave from party activities early this year in February following advice from doctors in regards to his health conditions.

The party has since then been handled and managed by a team led by the party Secretary General Mathias Nsubuga who has prevailed over the party grassroots elections.

Kakande advised all members interested to vie for any position within the party to follow through the party constitution and the issued guidelines.

He on the same note rolled out guidelines and requirements to be satisfied by a party member intending to offer him or herself for the party primaries which will start on July 3.
