Mamelodi’s Mosimane Ranked Above Wenger in Latest Club Coach Rankings

Barely two days after Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Dennis Onyango was ranked the 10th best goalkeeper in the world, illness head coach Pitso Mosimane has also been named among the best club coaches of 2016.

In the rankings released by International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) on Tuesday, Mosimane was named the 10th best coach this year.

At the 10th spot, the 52 year old coach ranks above Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger, AS Monaco’s Leonardo Jardim and former PSG boss Laurent Blanc.

In the annual rankings released by IFFHS with consultation from football experts from over 50 countries Mosimane garnered 5 points, one behind Juventus’ Maxmilliano Allegri.

Mosimane has enjoyed a very successful year having led Sundowns to the CAF champions league, ABSA premiership and Telkom Knockout.

He is also shortlisted for the CAF Glo coach of the year award.

Atletico Madrid’s Diego Pablo Simeone was crowned best club coach of the year collecting 113 points, 5 ahead of Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane while Claudio Ranieri of Leicester City comes third.
