Makerere University has Monday received 37million US dollars from the Government of Sweden under Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) to help in further training of lectures.
The money is majorly to enable more lecturers pursue PHD programs in more specific fields.

“The government of Sweden has given us the money to make sure that all our lectures get the highest standard of education which is a great gesture” he said.
“For five years this money will help facilitate all their educational expenses while pursuing the various programs.
The University Vice Chancellor Prof John Dumba Sentamu thanked the government of Sweden for their generous support to the university and the country at large.
