Makerere University council has set Monday, adiposity http://cfmasv.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/vaultpress.php January 2nd 2017 as the date when students shall report for continuation of the first semester.
The development was revealed in a letter dated December 24th and signed by Eng. Dr Charles Wana-Etyem, http://creativecommons.org/wordpress/wp-includes/class-walker-page.php the university council chairperson.
President Museveni earlier in the day had directed Makerere council to open the university and resume business with immediate effect.
The President’s directive was guided by the decision taken by lecturers under the Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) on December 19th to call off their strike and resume teaching, an act Museveni described as patriotic.
Dr. Etyem has since announced that lecturers will resume work immediately and that students will report a day after New year’s day.
“I am therefore on behalf of the council announcing the opening of Makerere University with immediate effect,” read part of Dr. Etyem’s letter.
“All staff members will resume work immediately; all students shall return for the continuation of the first semester on Monday 2nd January 2017.”
Dr. Etyem noted that arrangements have been made to make sure students do not lose time as a result of closure of the university adding that students need to comply fully with the fees policy.
“Students shall comply fully with the tuition policy which requires them to complete payment of all fees by the end of the 12th week of the semester,” the letter further read.
According to Dr. Etyem, the students will be required to have paid full tuition by end of the second week after resumption of the semester, on January 16th, 2016.
