“The offer of Laptops gives you a big comparative advantage towards your academic pursuit especially when you combine it with International Computer Driving License (ICDL) course you have I presume all registered to take,” Ssentamu said.

“I now expect you to be more efficient, have better accessibility to the Internet, present clean assignments to your Lecturers and assist you in faster writing and convenient group work and study.”

“I would also like to sound a word of caution here; that the laptops remain the property of Makerere University until you satisfactorily complete your study program.”

At the hand over, Dr Ogwang cautioned the beneficiaries against misuse of the awarded laptops by searching and engaging pornographic sites.

Meanwhile the Vice chancellor launched the scholars Aluminet Magazine,a platform not only to engage fellow scholars but also enable them express their views and opinions about the program and other topical issue.

“This is your platform, this first edition has had contributions from various people including you scholars; we shall expect you to be more proactive and submit interesting articles in the subsequent editions.”
