Magogo, Fifa President to Discuss Football Development in Mexico

A three man FUFA delegation headed by the President Moses Magogo, abortion his 1st Vice President Justus Mugisha and FUFA CEO Edgar Watson have left the country for Mexico to attend the Caf assembly and the FIFA Congress both scheduled for this week from Wednesday to Saturday.

Top on the agenda for the Ugandan representatives will be a discussion with the newly elected Fifa president Gianni Infantino on football development in the country.

“Football Development programmes in Uganda will be the agenda in our meeting with FIFA President, ” Eng Magogo said adding that, “We shall make use of every opportunity to discuss about football development while in Mexico.”

The three will attend the 38th CAF Ordinary General Assembly that takes place on Wednesday, 11 May 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Mexico City, Mexico and then the 66th FIFA Congress on Friday 13 at the Centro Banamex.

The FIFA congress is expected to update the Member Associations on matters such as the governance reforms approved by the Extraordinary Congress on 26 February and other FIFA’s plans to enhance football development.

“Following the approval of the revised statutes, the FIFA Congress is a key milestone in our commitment to put the reforms into action and lead FIFA and football forward. An important part of FIFA’s recovery is to engage with the football world, including former top players,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino was quoted in a press release.
