The Chief Registrar in the Judiciary Paul Wolimbwa Gadenya has transferred 37 judicial officers who include Registrars and Magistrates from one work station to another.
The transfer of THE affected magistrates according to a circular dated September 29, 2017 will take effect on 10th October 2017, whereas that of Registrars will be effected on 1st November 2017.
“All the affected judicial officers should arrange to hand over their offices in accordance with chapter 1, section F-d of the standing orders of Government of Uganda,” read the memo.
Under the changes, The Inspector of Courts Tadeo Asiimwe was transferred to Court of Appeal as registrar and the
Deputy Registrar Immaculate Busingye assigned the role of acting Inspector of the courts.
Three officials were assigned the role of Assistant Registrars namely, HW Bucyana Lillian who was sent on
assignment to Commercial Court; Soroti Chief Magistrate Ruth Nabasa who will be the caretaker of the registry of the High Court in Soroti; while Luwero Chief Magistrate, Charles Sserubuga, will serve in the same capacity in the registry of Data and Magistrates Affairs.
