Machar To Be Escorted To Juba By Ethiopian PM

South Sudan rebel leader, Riek Machar

The South Sudan rebel leader, tadalafil shop http://dejanmilutinovic.com/wp-admin/includes/bookmark.php Dr. Riek Machar who is also the designated First Vice President is going to be escorted to the country’s capital Juba by the Ethiopian Prime Minister Haillemariam Dessalegn for a one day visit next week.

The visit will be the first in 23 months since the brutal internal conflict between Dr. Machar and his former boss President Salva Kiir over an alleged attempted coup.

Machar discreetly fled from Juba in December 2013 when the capital was characterized by sporadic gunfire between the elite presidential guards that had drifted into two groups with parallel command structures.

He first rushed to the Jonglei State capital Bor that became the first flashpoint for the struggle. When the Ugandan army UPDF moved to Bor and made the town its Forward operating base, sildenafil Dr. Machar crossed the River Nile and relocated to Nassir in Upper Nile state about 700kms from capital Juba.

The SPLA-IO Commander-in-Chief stayed in Nassir that became the rebel movement’s headquarters up to 8th May 2014 when he moved to Pagak and finally to Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa the next day to physically attend the IGAD led peace talks which had started months earlier.

It was the first time he met face to face with his arch rival president Kiir. Since May 2014 Machar has been based in a hotel in Addis Ababa together with the senior of his group including the deputy Gen. Alfred Lado Gore, pills http://cs4all.nyc/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader-skins.php Spokesman Mabior Garang de Mabior and Taban Deng among others.

The Compromised Peace Agreement signed in April this year says Machar and his group should move back to Juba to establish the Transitional Government of National Unity with the mainstream SPLM under Kiir.

The return however hit impasse when the two groups failed to agree on security arrangement of Juba. On 26th October the Government of South Sudan and the SPLA-IO finally agreed on the capital’s security arrangement and on Wednesday Machar’s group announced his one day visit.

Mr. Oyai Deng Ajak one of the SPLA-IO officials in Addis Ababa told journalists yesterday in the Ethiopian capital that their Commander-in-Chief is ready to storm Juba next week.

“Our Chairman is visiting Juba together with our longtime friend and host – Prime Minister Haillemariam. The visit is for one day to also pave way for a permanent return to concentrate on the transitional government,” Mr. Oyai said. The UPDF that the rebel group has been against withdrew from South Sudan last month.
