KCCA FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago could get the nod ahead of troubled Benjamin Ochan in their friendly match against Pretoria University on Wednesday and contest for a chance over the weekend against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ochan lost his father on Monday morning but, try according to the club chairman Julius Kabugo, sickness has insisted to travel with the team on Tuesday. However, it remains for Coach Mutebi to assess and decide who to start.

“The manager knows best who will start that day,” Lukwago told journalists in a press conference.

“My job is to continue working hard in training so that incase the chance comes, it finds me very ready. Otherwise am very optimistic.”

Lukwago was in charge on Saturday and kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win against The Saints. He hopes to replicate the form in case he is fielded in the starting team.

“It’s very important to keep a clean sheet away in such a tournament to give the team an upper hand when you return for the second leg,” he adds.

KCCA FC fly out on Tuesday afternoon.
