Doctors say Minister James Mutende died of Natural causes

Family members, decease relatives and friends will this evening hold a vigil at the home of the deceased state minister for industry Hon Dr James Shinyabulo Mutende, in Lukuli Makindye.

Minister Mutende, husband to Uganda’s EALA Representative Hon Lydia Wanyoto, was found dead in his bedroom on Saturday morning.

With no recent signs of ailment, the cause of the Minister’s death is soon to be announced by pathologists who conducted a post-mortem on Saturday.

Last evening, several government officials including Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda paid tribute to the fallen minister.

“Government is working with the family to obtain full details about the cause of death and to coordinate all the arrangements for burial. We shall keep the country informed,” said the Premier

According to preliminary funeral arrangements, Mutende’s body will be laid in state on Tuesday morning

Government is quoting doctors at Mulago Hospital as deducing that State Minister for Industry Hon James Mutende died of ‘natural causes.’

Mutende is said to have been found dead at his house on Saturday morning.

“Results from pathologists who carried out the postmortem at Mulago National Referral Hospital show that Hon Dr James Mutende died of natural causes, troche ” stated Rugunda in the statement.

The communique doesn’t specify the particular cause of the death of the minister, cheap who according to colleagues, didn’t show any signs of ailment in the past few days.

Meanwhile Government yesterday constituted a committee chaired by the Minister of Energy Hon Eng. Irene Muloni and deputised by the Minister of State for Trade, Hon David Wakikona, to coordinate arrangements for the burial of Mutende.

The committee according to Premier Rugunda, has been holding meetings with members of the family to make the necessary burial arrangements.
