Mulindwa Mukasa, pilule http://compagniedoucefrance.fr/media/widgetkit/widgets/slideset/styles/micasa/template.php a journalist with the Associated Press, viagra dosage has on 22nd June been acquitted by the Magistrates Court of obstructing the former District Police Commander, Wandegeya Police station, Julius Ceaser Tusingwire while executing his duties.

In her ruling, the Senior Principal Magistrate at the Law Development Centre Court, Jolly Nkore Shwanda said that the prosecution evidence was inconsistent and heavily discredited by the defense during cross-examination to be relied on.

“… Directing my mind as Court to the law and the evidence provided on record, there were great differences especially the testimony of the second prosecution witness having been discredited during cross examination. I fail to find that the accused has a case to answer. I accordingly acquit him as prayed for by defense Counsel,” ruled the Magistrate.

Mulindwa was represented by HRNJ-Uganda’ lawyer Catherine Anite while the prosecution was led by Naluzze Aisha Batala.

In June 2014, Mulindwa was charged with obstructing Julius Ceaser Tusingwire, the then District Police Commander of Wandegeya Police Station in November 2013 while transferring Kasule Richard alias Kamaggu, a radio journalist who had been arrested for hosting an opposition politician, the Deputy Lord Mayor, Sulaiman Kidandala.

Prior to this criminal charge, Mulindwa had instituted civil proceedings in the High Court against Tusingwire accusing him of harassment while covering the arrest and detention of Kamagu. The matter is currently before Justice Lydia Mugambe.

Commenting on the court ruling, Mulindwa said that the criminal charge was trumped up and diversionary and that he is happy to finally regain his freedom to pursue the civil case against Tusingwire who must answer for his unprofessional conduct against journalists.

“Despite the lengthy trial, justice has finally been procured. It is unfortunate that police is misusing its powers to harass and intimidate journalists through tramping up charges which they cannot prove. Police should promote the safety of journalists other than curtailing their freedoms,” said Robert Ssempala, the National Coordinator.

The attack was allegedly commanded by a one Musa Lusembo, http://couponadventures.com/wp-includes/class-wp-image-editor.php an assistant to one of the unsuccessful candidates in the recent party Primaries, http://cirnow.com.au/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/module-headings.php Kato Lubwama.

Following the allegations, Chimpreports today managed to reach Mr Lusembo on phone, who confidently told us about his readiness to launch another attack on the party headquarters and to coerce the entire leadership until sanity is restore therein.

“I want to assure you that we’ll maintain this fight until we redeem our party from the hands of those greedy and corrupt leaders who want to cling onto power,” Lusembo noted.

“We cannot just sit as party members are barred from accessing the party headquarters by those so called guards who beat up whoever tries to come at the party headquarters,” Lusembo said.

Mr Lusembo’s rage apparently followed a circular that was issued by the party president Norbert Mao on March 25, 2015, barring all members that had turned the party headquarters into their regular meeting place from where they attacked and made vulgar slurs on both staff members and the president.

He said he and his team were also opposed to the recently issued guidelines entailing tough requirements for one to stand for party presidency or any other leadership position at the national level; which were seen as aimed at blocking some party members from contesting. Some of the purportedly targeted individuals include Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago.

According to the party constitution as reechoed by the party spokesperson, Paul Kenneth Kakande, “Article 64 (a) (i) of the party constitution, a person shall qualify to be elected National Chairman, President or Vice President of the party if he or she has been an active member for at least ten years or a member of the National Council for at least five years,”.

Kakande added, “A person shall qualify to be elected to any other office of the party if he has been an active member of the party for at least three years, Art 64 (a) (i)”.

Some DP members at the headquarters who spoke to Chimpreports suspect that the Tuesday attack could have been masterminded by Mayor  Lukwago since among the attackers was his personal assistant, Deo Mbabazi.

Other reports indicate that Lusembo has lately been making threatening phone calls to some party members including party office administrator, Peter Sempijja and Ag. Publicity Secretary Sulaiman Kidandala.

Lusembo is Kato Lubwama’s personal assistant and a member of the radical ‘DP Buganda’ faction, who recently lost as party chairman in Ndeeba parish in the concluded grassroots elections.

He also operates a retail shop in Kampala city center selling second hand shoes.

It is also revealed that during the attack, keys to the president’s office were taken by the attackers after beating up his bodyguard Mulangira Zimbe.
