Lango Region Losers to Petition NRM EC

At least 1088 children have been defiled in the different parts of  Lango sub region, approved http://christlutheran.org/wp-includes/comment-template.php the regional child and family protection officer of Central North has said.

Mr Lawerence Omara Ogole told Journalists at Apac central police station that the rate of child abuse is on the rise.

“Our children are now at risk because most of them are being neglected and abandoned by their parents, http://claude-nicaud.com/new/wp-includes/class-wp-customize-control.php ” Mr Omara said on Friday.

He said the increase in defilement cases was because of misuse of drugs and alcohol.

He added that Lira district has the highest number of defilement cases, followed by Oyam and then Apac.

Others district with many defilement cases include, Dokolo, Alebtong, Otuke, Kole and Amolarar.

He said that most defilement suspects have been arrested and prosecuted in the courts of law.

Mr Odur Micheal, the officer in charge of the police child and family protection unit in Apac, said 80 defilement cases have been reported this year.

The Acting District police commander Mr Chemutai Kalifani said the police in Apac has started a sensitization drive aimed at reducing crime rate in the district.

“Our emphasis will be put on child sacrifice, child labor, defilement, rape, mob justice and witchcraft” he explained.

Three unsuccessful candidates in Lango region have said they will petition the NRM Electoral Commission, buy http://consolibyte.com/scripts/build/build_20130527/quickbooks.php over the irregularities that marred the elections exercise that was conducted on Tuesday.

The candidates who lost in the NRM Primaries are claiming that the election exercise was characterized by ballot stuffing, medicine http://chuntaritos.com/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-users-list-table.php bribery, http://contactburlco.org/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/class-wc-order.php insufficient ballot papers, delayed delivery of voting materials and lack of declaration forms at most of the polling stations.

Among the petitioners, is Mr Hendry Makmot Okello, the former Minister of Finance in the Obote 11 government.

“It is true that one should accept defeat but not under such circumstances where your opponent’s victory is simply attained through gross rigging,” Mr Okello said.

He noted that the entire exercise was substandard, and claims that almost all his agents were chased away from polling stations.

“I am prepared to present my petition to Dr. Tanga Odoi and to the office of NRM Secretary General calling for cancellation of the results and for fresh elections to be held.” he said.

Mr. Okello lost to Mr Tonny Ayo who beat his 5 opponents by 17,385 votes.

The other candidates set to petition are Mr Robert Ogwara and Keneth  Ayuku of Oyam County South  Constituency.

The two claim that some of their  supporters were denied a chance to take part in the election process.
