Land Wrangles: Minister Amongi Calms Angry Kagadi Locals

The Minister for lands, ampoule http://ctabuenosaires.org.ar/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-json-deflate-array-codec.php Housing & Urban Development Betty Amongi has reassured the people of Kagadi District that all the 27 fake land tittles which were acquired illegally will be canceled.

Amongi was addressing residents from the sub counties of Bwikara, viagra order Kyaterekera, Mpeefu and Ndaiga in a one-day land affairs dialogue organized by World Voices Uganda at Mpeefu sub county headquarters on Thursday.

Minister Amongi said she was aware of the issue affecting the local people who are being forced out of their homes, but revealed that the owners of the said fake lands titles had recently conceded acquiring them illegally. She noted however, that these were claiming compensations from government.

The land tittles in question are said to have been issued by the former Kibaale District Chairperson, George William Namyaka to mostly his family members in the sub counties of Mpeefu, Kyaterekera, Bwikara and Ndaiga.

The minister says Section 29 of the Land Act provides ownership of land to one who bought it through the right procedures or has stayed on the land since 1983.

While expressing their concerns, residents tasked the minister to handle their issues urgently since they have received a lot of ministers and officials on the same matter without answers to their problems.

The minister advised the residents to always consult the Lands office for help in case of any related land conflict.

Meanwhile Kagadi district woman Mp. Jenifer K. Mbabazi disclosed the right procedures taken to acquire land tittles which the owners of the 27 land tittles in question did not follow.

The dialogue was also attended by RDC Kagadi Salim Komakech, Lc5 chairperson Byaruhanga Steven Mfashingabo, DPC Peter Ongwara among others.
