Kyambogo Gang Rape: Police Officer Pins Suspects

Detective Walter Okello, site http://comarsa.com.pe/components/com_k2/views/latest/tmpl/latest_item.php a police officer attached to Jinja road Police station has pinned two men before High Court Judge Justice Joseph Murangira, for gang raping a 24 year old lady in a forest new Kyambogo University

The two accused persons are Patrick Lugayi 21, and Leo Kamugisha 26, both residents of Banda Nakawa Division, Kampala District

In his testimony the police detective informed court that on 3rd July 2015 while he was still stationed at Kyambogo University Police station, he received a report from lady who was dressed in a muddy torn dress who was coming from Pallisa, that she had been gang raped by a group of men near the university

He said he proceeded together with other officers to the scene and was able to arrest two suspects, and one Leo the third one later on, who reported dragged the victim to the forest.

The detective added that on taking him to Police, Leo admitted that he committed the offence with both Lugayi and Kamugisha and recorded an additional statement

“Okello said that it was Kamugisha that undressed her first then had sex with her before the two joined in.”  okello remarked

Justice Jospeh Murangira adjourned the further hearing of the matter to 11th January 2016.
