Former SC Villa and KCCA FC goalie Martin Elungat endured a horrible 90 minutes in his second start for Thika United as the team crushed 4-0 away to giants AFC Leopards on Saturday afternoon.
Former Tanzania’s Simba SC striker Paul Kiongeraa tapped in the first goal past a helpless Elungat.
Kiongeraa missed a golden chance to double his count with a minute to the breather after failing to thump in Allan Kateregga’s superb cross from the right which eluded the entire AFC Leopards defence.
Kateregga was lucky to double the lead in the 49th through a rebound from the spot. His initial kick was blocked by Elungat.
Elungat’s day was made worse by two quick goals from Kepha Aswani and a thunderous freekick by Bernard Mangoli. He was later booked for a high tackle.
Samuel Mwanje also featured in Thika united squad.
Elungat joined the Nairobi based Thika United during the recent concluded short transfer from Muhorony Youth and was preferred to start ahead of fellow compatriot Hamza Muwonge.
The win lifts the Leopards to 11th with 20 points. Five ahead of the thika side that seat just a place above relegation in the 16-team league
