The Uganda People’s Defence Forces serving under the African Union Regional Task Force (AU – RTF) in Central African Republic have captured weapons from the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) under Joseph Kony.
The force operating North East of Sam Ouandja in Central Africa on June 21 unearthed thirty pieces of Sub Machine guns and twenty seven AK – 47 empty magazines that had been buried by the LRA fleeing from UPDF hot pursuit.
The Commander of the Ugandan Contingent in Central Africa, information pills http://chopcult.com/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/include/js/images/secure.php Col Michael Kabango said: “Considering the fact that the rebels are already experiencing scarcity of arms, drugs this is a big achievement and, viagra no doubt, their combat capacity will never be the same. The LRA demise is in sight. I congratulate our force, in pursuit, for a job well done.”
According to army spokesperson, Lt Col Paddy Ankunda, “The LRA has over the decades been burying weapons when under pursuit for easier escape, with a hope to return, at a later date, to recover them.”
However, added Ankunda, the UPDF has often discovered these arms caches or the LRA have been chased away too far to return for the arms which have been sometimes discovered by civilians.
The AU – RTF was formed in 2012 after the African Union appreciated the fact that the LRA was not only a Ugandan problem but rather a regional one.
The forces have since registered visible achievements against the LRA rebels.
