The Uganda Rugby Premiership Champions lost 24-29 in the finals but were crowned champions after collecting the highest number of tries over the five circuits played this year with both sides having 78 points at the end of the day.
The Legends-based club enjoyed bragging rights over their arch rivals lifting the championship in their backyard.
Kobs who had gone eight years without winning the 7s went ahead to lift last year’s title and have gone on to successfully defend the crown to add to league title.
Kobs kicked off the day thumping Stallions 50-00 in the first game before charging past Rhinos 28-00 to storm the quarter finals of the Roke Telecom 7s.
They went ahead to beat Warriors 25-00 and Mongers 36-05 in the quarter finals and semi finals respectively.
Despite losing the Roke Telecom circuit final to Heathens, Kobs were crowned overall champions and walked home with prize money of Shs 2.5M. Heathens who settled for second earned Shs 2m while third placed Mongers got Shs 1.5m
Lawrence Ssebuliba (Heathens) and Adrien Kasito of Kobs were voted joint Most Valuable Players with each player rewarded Shs 250,000.
