The former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr Col. Kiiza Besigye has emphasized that the struggle to reclaim his victory in the last elections is still ongoing and undeterred.
Besigye told the people of the new district of Kagadi on Sunday, page http://chelseamamma.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/3rd-party/woocommerce.php that he hadn’t given up yet on the fight to liberate Ugandans from what he calls tyranny.
Flanked by Ingrid Turinawe the FDC chief mobilizer, http://celebrationhopecenter.org/wp-admin/includes/meta-boxes.php Besigye traversed the sub-counties of Kyaterekera, http://culinaryschools.org/includes/leftads%20-%20medianet.php Mpeefu, Muhorro and Kagadi town council assuring the residents that he still stands firm.
He in his various addresses to the hundreds of supporters maintained that he won the 2016 presidential elections by 52% but the Electoral Commission chairperson instead announced the incumbent.
Besigye is currently battling a treason case — which at most carries the maximum death sentence – for declaring and swearing himself in as President of Uganda when the Electoral Commission announced President Yoweri Museveni as winner of the February elections.
Last week, the four-time presidential candidate repeated the same claims in the Magistrates court that is trying him.
He said there was no point in the government prosecution wasting time investigating comments which he made publicly.
Besigye believes declaring himself President doesn’t tantamount to Treason, which partly explains the delayed State investigations.
Meanwhile at the Kagadi rallies, Dr Besigye lashed out at the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura saying that time had come for him to face the same justice system that he has for years subjected (Besigye) and other opposition leaders to. Kayihura has been summoned by court to answer to his Force’s alleged brutality.
Besigye was in the new district to drum support for his party candidates contesting for the positions of District Woman MP and L.C.5 Chairperson.
The FDC flag bearers are Magret Naziwa Rujumba and Peter Byahangire respectively.
Kiiza Besigye urged electorates in Kagadi to vote wisely and ensure FDC Flag bearers win elections come August 29, 2016.
