Kisoro Health Inspector Found Dead in Office

Shock and grief engulfed Kisoro district administration as the acting Kisoro District Health Inspector Habiyaremye Gideon 40, purchase patient was found Friday morning dead in his office.

Habiyaremye is said to have worked normally the previous day, story with no indication of any ailment according to workmates who gathered at the district compound where different people gave different versions of his death.

The Kisoro Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Wilson Tibugyenda said Habiyaremye had a history of chronic diabetes and had developed swollen feet.

During a search inside his office, the CAO says, police found some drugs in his desk drawer.

“His friends have informed us about his long history of diabetes; we suspect that this might have taken his life,” Said Tibugyenda

The CAO revealed that a resident police constable one Ruth Muhawe had locked the main entrance of the health department block at 11pm without realizing that there was a dead body in one of the offices. He said the same constable opened in the morning and still did not notice.

He added that investigations were still ongoing but ruled out the possibility of foul play.

“The deceased has never been involved in any conflict with his colleagues”, he said.

Habiyaremye had worked for Kisoro local government for 15 years since 2001 when he started as a health assistant.

By publication time, relatives of the deceased were planning to take the body to Mbarara regional referral hospital “for a better postmortem.”
