Police in Kisoro have behind bars two Kisoro district officials over misuse of 9.9 million shillings for polio immunization.
The Kisoro District Finance Officer Richard Semukyo and the District Cashier Charles Nsengiyunva were on Thursday evening arrested after State House’s Head of Medicines and Health Service Delivery Monitoring Unit established that they failed to account for Shs9.9M that was meant for facilitating the polio and measles immunization exercises early this year.
Dr Diana Atwiine who heads the State House team says that the suspects were arrested and handed over to police in Kisoro district for thorough investigations and possible prosecution.

Edger Akankwasa the Kisoro district police commander on Friday confirmed the arrest of the two suspects and added that the investigation department of the police was handling them.
