Kisoro Businessman Shot at Home

Stephen Sabiti Semitwe the political aide of Bufumbira South Member of Parliament in Kisoro district Sam Bitangaro was on Saturday night attacked by gun wielding men and shot.

Semitwe who is also a businessman in Kisoro town was retiring home from a business trip from Rwanda at around 8pm when he was attacked at his home in  Birembo  village, buy Kyahi sub county.

The attackers shot and injured him in the hand. He narrowly survived taking a fatal shot on the head as his face was grazed by one of the bullets.

He was then rushed to Mutolere Hospital where he is getting treatment.

Erasmus Sanyu, the Chahi sub county chairman says this is not the first attack of the kind in the area.

He says last year, a bodaboda rider was attacked by gunmen who shot and injured him.

This is also the second attack on Mr Semitwe as last year he was attacked by knife wielding thugs at his home injuring him seriously.

Innocent Mubangizi, the Kisoro CID boss confirmed the incident and said that police they have commenced investigations into the attack.
