Former Vice President Prof Gilbert Bukenya has snubbed The Democratic Alliance talks which have been taking place at Royal Suites in Bugolobi, health http://cenariospizza.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-store-locator/admin/upgrade.php Kampala.

This was revealed by DP President Norbert Mao in a statement on Sunday.

Bukenya, viagra buy http://colbleu.fr/wp-content/plugins/exploit-scanner/hashes-4.4.php Mao, http://conocity.eu/wp-includes/simplepie/parser.php Dr Kizza Besigye and Hon Amama Mbabazi were expected to meet again on Saturday.

This was aimed at enabling the quartet to reach a consensus on who should carry the FDC flag in the 2016 elections after a series of unfruitful discussions.

“On Saturday afternoon we met but Prof. Bukenya did not come,” said Mao.

He further added that Bukenya was even “unreachable” on his known telephone. “The three of us met informally and had candid talks,” he added.

ChimpReports was unable to reach Bukenya for comment.

However, it remains to be seen if he will make it to the TDA conference slated for today Monday.

Observers say Bukenya retains the swing vote in the TDA talks after Mao openly exhibited his support for Mbabazi and fierce opposition to the idea of Besigye leading the opposition-leaning coalition against Museveni in 2016.

Mao said “Nobody should claim a patent right to leading the opposition charge against Museveni” in reference to acts of violence by FDC youth wingers at the TDA conference last week.

He also accused FDC leaders of forging a signature to undermine the TDA resolutions.

On the other hand, Mao seemed to praise Mbabazi, saying the international community is on his side.

Bukenya is thought to be supporting Besigye for the TDA flag.

He has on several occasions accused Mbabazi of planning and orchestrating his downfall from the position of Vice President.

Bukenya at one time said Mbabazi told lies to President Museveni that he was conspiring with the Catholic Church to topple the head-of-state.

Mbabazi denies the allegations.

Swing vote

Therefore, with Bukenya reported on Besigye’s side and Mao on Mbabazi’s, the quartet is likely to fail on reaching a consensus of fielding a joint presidential candidate.

But Mao warned that “if we field one candidate and lose I think Ugandans will blame us less than if we fielded more than one candidate and still lost.”

Presidential aspirant, Omar Kalinge Nnyago argues that opposition have risked and argued against a so-called single opposition TDA presidential candidate for weeks now, an idea that is becoming popular.

“We are glad the idea is catching up. More and more people are buying it. A presidential ballot paper 2016 without both Besigye and Mbabazi (bush war comrades and some of us who are not) would be no a ballot,” he argued.

“TDA should be left to be what it is- a grand idea for political change. Let every change-seeking Ugandan be TDA. Any effort to structure it without matching resources is a futile attempt.”
