Kirinya Jinja SS have finally earned their promotion to the Uganda premier league following a dramatic last match day (23) in the Fufa Big league where the ‘students’ beat Wandegeya in a five goal thriller in Kanyanya.
The Jinja side has previously failed in two successive attempts in their quest for topflight football. Last year, viagra buy http://danielborda.net/wp-admin/maint/repair.php The team under coach Mathew Lucha and Abbey Kikomeko reached yet another playoffs final after missing out on automatic qualification just by two points. Maroons qualified direct.
The ‘students’ learnt another tougher lesson losing to their crosstown rivals Jinja Municipal Hippos 5-1 in the finals.
However at the beginning of the season, the Rwenzori champions decided a plan ‘B’ which was powerful than the ‘A’.
“We are planning for direct promotion this season. After failing twice, we no longer want to use the playoffs route. And we shall qualify by the end of the season,” Jinja SS PRO Paul Kulumba told this website in January during an I interview.
James Otim fired in two stunning shots in the 6th and 65th minute; his sixth and third of the season as Allan Drajua finished off ten minutes to the clock to give the Jinja team a remarkable 3-2 comeback away to Wandegeya.
The win coupled with a shocking 1-1 draw for Proline against Kasese New Villa means that Jinja SS FC leapfrog the Nakivubo side on the last day to finish on top with 52 points, one ahead.
