The Citizens’ Elections Observers Uganda (CEON-U) have discredited the entire presidential and parliamentary election process citing  irregularities that were witnessed in the opening of the polling stations, visit prescription http://danmarknorge.org/wp-includes/class-wp.php set up, this http://chopcult.com/wp-content/plugins/instapress/templates/images/secure.php voting, sick http://clearwatercommunities.com/wp-admin/includes/template.php closing and counting.

While releasing election preliminary findings at Hotel Africana, CEON-U Chairperson, Dr. Livingstone Ssewanyana highlighted that despite the high turn up of voters to elect the leaders of their choice, the Electoral Commission (EC) didn’t meet the standards of a free and fair election.

“We commend EC for the collective decisions that they took during yesterday’s polling; however, their conduct left many Ugandans dissatisfied,” said Dr. Ssewanyana.

“The extension of polling in some parts of Wakiso and Kampala districts was indeed welcome. However, this has got peculiar impact that we need to look into,” Ssewanyana noted.

Ssewanyana said the observers concluded that the elections were not free and fair and that the election process and voting doesn’t measure up to the expected standards.

“Any impartial and serious observer, can clearly state that the entire election process wasn’t leveled.”

Ssewanyana expressed gratitude that the Biometric Voter Verification System (BVVS) was successfully used in most places despite a few were polling officials resorted to the use the voter registers after the machines jammed.

“During the voting process, polling officials at most polling stations followed procedures, Biometric Voter Verification System (BVVS) functioned well, with some problems, however, there were some problems with voters, including a high percentage of voters assisted by unauthorized persons.”

Electoral Commission (EC) chief Eng Badru Kiggundu has welcomed the arrest of FDC top officials specifically Dr Kizza Besigye for reportedly trying to announce their own election results.

FDC is said to have been running a parallel election tally centre at their headquarters in Kampala.

Police today used teargas to disperse party officials before taking over the premises in Najjanankumbi, for sale http://cerlalc.org/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/wc-user-functions.php Entebbe Road.

Besigye, http://cocktaildream.be/wp-includes/functions.wp-scripts.php Mugisha Muntu, http://chienyenthinh.com/components/com_k2/controllers/item.php Waswa Biriggwa and Ingrid Turinawe were eventually arrested and driven off to an unknown destination.

Asked to comment on the FDC top leadership’s arrest, Kiggundu responded: “Let him answer for his lack of respect for the law.”

Kiggundu said Besigye disrespects the EC which is legally mandated to hold elections.

Meanwhile, violence has broken out in different parts of Kampala especially along Entebbe Road.

Opposition supporters set bonfires in the middle of the road along the Entebbe highway, causing panic.

Police and the military are jointly patrolling the city and its suburbs especially Naalya, Kireka, Makindye, Mengo, Kasubi, Kisenyi and Kissekka.

The Central Business District remains deserted with many fearing to lose lives and property in the violence.

The East African Community and European Union Observer Missions will tomorrow hold press briefings at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on the elections.
