Kiggundu Murder Suspects Decry Delayed Trail

Defense lawyers in the case where four people are charged with the murder of Major Muhammad Kiggundu before Buganda Road Magistrate Jamson Karemani, medicine have applied for an order to the prosecution to speed up investigations in the matter because it’s affecting their clients.

In their submissions by the lead counsel Friday Roberts Kagoro, pill these described as unfair, information pills the fact that their clients have been incarcerated for more than four months and state claims it is still investigating.

In reply, State Prosecutor Emily Ninsiima said she couldn’t be specific on the date that investigations will be completed, and asked to be given more time.

The trial magistrate remanded the four accused persons back to Luzira Prison until 19th May when they will return for further mention.

The Four accused persons include the former Acting Tabliq Muslim Amir, Sheikh Yahya Mwanje, 2 bodaboda riders from Kyengera Muhammad Buyondo and Abdul -Wahab Ssendegeya,  and Muhammad Ssekandi, a businessman from Masanafu
